Calming Down: Breathing Techniques

Independent Time for Centering and Calming

You should use this time to think about how you best calm yourself and carve out some time to allow yourself to relax, heal, and restore.


You can sit on your yoga mat in quiet or play the most peaceful music that you can find.

You could download a meditation app like InsightTimer and try out one of the meditations on there. They have some that are music based or guided talking. They have meditations for sleep and for anxiety and for kids!

You could stretch and try to just breathe for 20 minutes too!

7:30-7:45 PM

Find It Jar!

Using a plain clear plastic jar that holds about 18 oz, 16 oz of plain white rice, and about 20 small objects, we'll make a Find-It Jar. These are great for having something tangible to hold and look at and get a little bit lost in if we're feeling overwhelmed. They're also great for long car rides for something to do. Think of them like 3D Search and Finds!
