New Friends

I was lucky enough to spend a morning with this lovely couple, their parents, and sibling's family and nephew.  My new friends, Tracy and Greg live at this farm - and one of my favorite places to photograph portraits or landscapes.  Tracy raises young heifer cows until they are old enough to give birth to a calf and produce milk for other farms.  Both of them are so welcoming and their home is so warm. Today's story is a little about our time together for a photo session.

What a mark of real love!

Sometimes images can be just images but the good ones catch something deeper. These two sweet people love each other and it seems to shine through their portraits.

Connecting:

It was lovely to speak with this couple about their farm and life and what it is like to run around taking kids to practices, as they recalled raising Greg and I am in the midst of that journey with my sons.  I love the moments of connecting with new acquaintances. What beauty in those moments of connecting!

The Star:

When I talked with Tracy about her session afterwards, she referred to this sweet little man as "The Star."  She meant the star of the session, of course - because he was all smiles for nearly every shot - especially after he warmed up to me.  It was even the morning of the time change and still he was sweet!  We threw leaves together and ran around.  By now, my readers might  know how much I love to capture a serious moments too.  Here is a good one!

All Smiles

Can't you just hear that squeal of delight?  What a beautiful sound and sight of childhood.  It makes me just think of every child everywhere to see and hear a smile like that.  Its universal - regardless of creed, language, culture.  Its also beautiful.  What a blessing!

Smiling Together

These are Tracy's parents.  They too are such a sweet couple.  They wanted an additional photo with the cows behind them - which I love!

Breaking Bread

And then they all went inside together on a chilly November day and shared a meal together. (It smelled amazing!) It made me think - if only more sessions went like that - what a great idea!  Then, its not just a photo that everyone gets together for - but real time together.  Love it!

All the best to all of you and thanks for the joys of spending time with you making photographs!
