Nik and Erin were married in the most gorgeous location I've ever seen in Central Pennsylvania: Piney Creek Greenhouse. I can't wait to show you some of the locations we used for their portraits, their ceremony spot, the pavilion, and more!

Location 1: First Look & Portraits

Nik and Erin did a First Look. (If you follow me regularly, you know how much I love these, especially for outdoor weddings in warm weather!)

A first look is when the bride and groom meet before the ceremony for portraits and some time together to take in all in before the busy day begins! The flowers are fresh and make-up is fresh and it provides a quiet moment together that doesn't really naturally happen the rest of the day.

I'm going to show you a few photos of their first look and then photos with their daughter and portraits of the two of them from this one spot!

Location 2: Portraits in a Second Location

We were making great time so in order to give my bride and groom enough variety in their final image collection, we just took a 2 minute walk to another spot on the property to do some cozy-looking portraits under the cover of a greenhouse with plants and fantastic objects in the space around them. When we finished with these, we still had 30 minutes for them to get into place; touch up make-up, gather their group, and be ready for the ceremony with plenty of time to spare.

Ceremony Location

Erin and I met at Piney Creek Greenhouse a few weeks before the wedding to talk about the exact spot to have the ceremony. We based that on the age and needs of the guests and the distance to the pavilion and ease of the walk. Because of Covid-19, they had many modifications to their wedding day and needed to change the date, venue, and crowd size (and the dress!) to make it all work.

We settled on a spot that allowed guests to stand or sit for the short ceremony and that if it was raining, guests could  watch the ceremony from the pavilion if needed. This worked really well. The clouds were gray and heavy with a feeling of potential drizzle but it didn't actually rain on the day of their wedding so we didn't have to make use of those extra plans!

We used the same spot for family portraits immediately after the ceremony. This worked really well too.

The location was also a photographer's dream. There were so many green and flowering plants to shoot through and achieve a foreground, middle ground, and background to images that allowed them to be rich with layers and interesting to the eye!

Dance, Toasts & Cake: How we used the pavilion space

The dance floor isn't huge but it worked well for the crowd size. I'm going to show you their first dance photos along with photos of toasts which were all in the same spot. The DJ (Loyalty Entertainment, LTD) had enough space to set up and everyone had enough room to dance and move around later too!

I'm also showing you their cake cutting. This was a little further from guests so I'm not sure how much they could see, but the cake, made by Lisa Becker Bakery, was  gorgeous and fit the theme perfectly!

Sunset Portraits:

I love to, if I have the chance in planning and weather, to sneak my bride and groom away around sunset, do one last portrait session. This one was across the street from the greenhouse and we did have to be careful of traffic coming up so quickly but we all made it!
