2020 Home Quarantine Journal

03.20.20

I’m home with my kiddos who are fluctuating between moments of joy that they’re not in school and moments of boredom. Like many other families out there, I’ve been keeping them busy with some school activities, creative projects, baking, lots of reading and walks outside.

But, I also know there is something else happening here. I know that they’ll look back on this time of quarantine and social distancing and remember it uniquely. They’ll remember it the same way we adults remember the biggest snowstorm of our childhoods or where we were on September 11, 2001. This journal will both keep kids busy and provide a way for them to work through the worries and thoughts they’re having about their experiences right now. It will also provide a way to look back and remember this time.

You can use the pdf I created to make a homemade journal for each family member to fill in during the 2020 Covid-19 Quarantine.

Pages are formatted differently for varying levels of ability in writing and each level has a space for a drawing or sketch done each day. Print out only the pages you need for your crew and then make multiples of those pages. I started with 10 pages per child. Don’t forget to print a cover page for everyone! Prepared

Writing Levels include:

Pre-school and Kindergarten

Elementary Level Grades 1-2

Elementary Level Grades 3-5

Middle School Grades 6-8 High School and Adults

Get out your drawing and coloring materials and make something memorable! Art is a universal language and creativity is a great way to cope. This packet is free. Share it widely and with lots of love.

Grace and Peace, friends.
